On another, less grim, note. I have a sketchbook full of art pertaining to Koba. I aim to get that online ASAP, work allowing. At the very least, I’ll post a sketch dump at some point ;)

Don’t panic.

I am here to remind you of all the possibilities you might not consider…

Actual real life example:

Friend: Look, I found this keep coffee cup someone left and hasn’t claimed, do you think I should keep it? It’s probably got mouth germs on it, but I can wash it, right?

Me: The person who drank from that cup might have gone down on someone who has all kinds of groin-based afflictions. DO. NOT. TRUST.

Friend: I never thought of that…I’ll just leave that where it is. Thanks.

Me: Just doing my duty, ma’am.

tips against envy for other artists?

  • you are your own artist
  • nobody can do the shit that you do
  • you have no competition. art isn’t a competition
  • don’t compare yourself to anyone else.
  • don’t strive to be better than anyone else.
  • strive to be better than YOU are now

Koba and ‘Mother’ from the book, Firestorm.
His scenes were easily my favourite, and also the most heartbreaking. This is probably one of his few happy memories. Definitely not light reading! This is actually part of a much larger thing I’m working on at the moment in my free time. I’ll post updates as they happen. But for now, this segment is finished.
Sketched by hand, coloured in Photoshop CS5 and Painter 12. I borrowed the ‘Lexigram’ images from source images used in teaching the famous Bonobo, Kanzi, to communicate with human researchers.

Found this one from the shots of the last set of synthetic dreads I made. Note to self: Turn off night vision.
Only, I think it looks kind of cool lol

in the tumblr tagging system, unsourced artwork is considered especially heinous. on this blogging platform, the users who source these felonies are part of an elite task force called the source your fucking artwork unit. these are their stories.

If you haven’t read DoTPoTA: Firestorm, this will make absolutely no sense. In which case…look at the pretty Bonobos ^_^
